RREUSE background paper on EPR schemes and product reuse

Paper highlights a number of ways in which EPR schemes can potentially contribute to resource efficiency and socio-economic inclusion

The amounts of reusable products ending up in the waste stream are significant. Directly recycling, incinerating, or landfilling these products is a real missed environmental and socio economic opportunity.

This paper presents a number of case studies highlighting ways in which preparation for reuse activities are supported by Extended Producer Responsibility Schemes for WEEE, furniture and textiles.

The paper was presented at the conference entitled EPR Revolution in the European Context on 19th September in Brussels.
