RREUSE was invited to participate in the UNDP’s Central Asia regional workshop held on 19th  July in Almaty – Kazakhstan as expert speaker in green social enterprises.
The purpose of the workshop was to seek to link social and green economy initiatives, and explore the potential application of these linkages in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The outcomes of the event will help UNDP practitioners and partners to improve their understanding and knowledge of the actual and potential contributions of the social, economic, and environmental benefits provided by locally based social enterprises.
The geographic focus of this workshop was not just confined to Central Asia, but also covered all the programme countries that work with UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS.
In this context, Paolo Ferraresi had the opportunity to present the RREUSE platform as well as the activities of some of its members Ateliere Fara Frontiere, Envie and Ekon, to an audience of about 50 delegates from different central Asian and European countries involved in the promotion of social green initiatives in the region.
One of the main results of the meeting will be the further integration of reuse and recycling activities into the UNDP strategy to promote green social initiatives in Central Asia.
